The watch for the arrival of Tiny Croft has officially begun. The bassinet is set up next to my side of the bed, the car seat is installed, and the bags are all packed. We’re about as ready as we possibly can be, so for now, we wait.
Today marks goal week #1 – 37 weeks. After spending the last two weeks on bed rest with visits to the hospital for monitoring, this is all a huge deal. Thankfully the issue is entirely because of me and not because anything is wrong with the baby. Our little wriggle worm looks absolutely perfect, and knowing that has been quite a relief while I spend my days on the couch doing nothing but watching too much Netflix. It’s not the way I thought the last few weeks of pregnancy would go, but as long as it means a healthy, happy baby, I’m all for it. This baby took a little extra effort to have and is now taking a little extra effort to keep from coming too early. However, all the extra effort in the world will be so very worth it.
Today also marks the beginning of something else – my maternity leave. I will be returning in mid-May. Until then, I will be slow to respond to emails and messages, so please forgive the delays. In the mean time, I will continue posting on Instagram and on Twitter. You can follow me on both at @ashleighcroft. For now, my Instagram is mostly (and unapologetically) pictures of my adorable cats. A very adorable baby will soon be making their debut though, and Stephen and I truly couldn’t be more excited.
